Insert Window Replacement

  1. Preparing the Area
    A Renewal by Andersen professional takes care to protect your living area by covering furniture and floors.
  2. Removing Window Stops
    First, we carefully remove the interior window stops to gain access to the window sash.
  3. Removing Old Window Sash
    With the window stops removed, the upper and lower sash are disconnected and removed.
  4. Inserting the New Window
    After careful inspection of the opening, the new window can be installed.
  5. Squaring and Leveling
    The new window is squared and leveled to ensure a proper fit for a lifetime of smooth operation; then it is fastened into place.
  6. Insulating and Caulking
    For a weather tight fit, insulation and caulk are applied around the entire perimeter of the new window.
  7. Finishing the Interior
    To complete the interior of the window, insulation is placed around the frame and interior. Next, the interior casings are carefully installed.
  8. Testing the Window
    Finally, we check the new window for proper operation and thoroughly clean the window and surrounding work area.
  9. Enjoy Your New Window
    When the job is completed, the old window is properly disposed of by your Renewal by Andersen installer.

Full-frame Window Replacement

  1. Preparing the Area
    A Renewal by Andersen professional takes care to protect your living area by covering furniture and floors.
  2. Removing Window Casing
    First, we carefully remove the interior and exterior casing trim to gain access to the entire window frame.
  3. Removing Window and Frame
    With the window casing removed, the window and frame are exposed, and the old window is removed and set aside.
  4. Preparing the Opening
    If necessary, the opening is adjusted so the new window will fit properly.
  5. Setting the New Window
    The new window is placed and carefully checked for level, square, plumb and centering. Shims are used for alignment and the window is fastened.
  6. Finishing the Exterior
    Exterior brick mould may be used to enhance the new window. Caulk is applied around the entire perimeter for a weather tight fit.
  7. Finishing the Interior
    To complete the interior of the window, insulation is placed around the frame and interior. Next, the interior casings are carefully installed.
  8. Testing the Window
    Finally, we check the new window for proper operation and thoroughly clean the window and surrounding work area.
  9. Enjoy Your New Window
    When the job is completed, the old window is properly disposed of by your Renewal by Andersen installer.
